I'm Ahmad, an independent craft maker. Nothing here is factory-made. Each item is created personally, one bead at a time, after you order.

Hello, and welcome. My name is Ahmad, and I'm an independent craft maker based in Kabul, Afghanistan.
I work with beads: small, colorful, and full of possibility. What began as a personal love for creating things with my own hands has grown into something I'm grateful to share with people around the world.
When I sit down to work, everything is done by hand. I choose beads, string them, adjust the design, and check every detail. There is no machine involved and no assembly line, just quiet, patient work.
I don't keep finished stock waiting on a shelf. Every order is made after you place it, so what you receive is made with your request in mind, from the very first bead to the final knot.
Every piece I make begins with a single bead, chosen from a market in Kabul, threaded by hand, and sent off to become part of someone else's story.
In a small studio in Kabul, I open a box of colorful glass beads from the local market. Turquoise, amber, deep blue: each bead catches the morning light, sparkling with a beauty of its own. I spread them across my worktable, choosing each one carefully, imagining what it might become.
With patient hands, I thread the beads onto strong waxed cotton cord, weaving in silver- and gold-colored wire. One by one, the beads come together to form something new. No two pieces are exactly alike, because no two are made by the same hands, on the same morning, in the same moment.
Outside, the city begins another busy day. Inside, I work quietly, knotting each strand by hand. Sometimes I wonder where my creations will go. Perhaps a necklace will find its way to Tokyo, a bracelet to Berlin, or a pair of earrings to New York.
I imagine someone opening a small package, lifting a piece of jewelry into the light, and smiling. Perhaps it will be worn on a wedding day, during an ordinary morning commute, or while sharing a quiet cup of tea with someone special. Wherever it goes, a little piece of my work will go with it.
And so, one bead begins a journey far beyond the small studio where it was chosen. It travels across cities and borders, carrying color, craftsmanship, and a story that began in Afghanistan.
This is the spirit of SakuraBeads: the belief that something beautiful doesn't need to come from a famous place or a grand workshop. Sometimes, beauty begins with simple materials, patient hands, and the imagination to bring them together.
Every piece is handmade with care, ready to become part of someone else's story.
When the final knot is tied, I gently attach a small tag. I look at the finished creation, knowing I may never meet the person who wears it, but that, somewhere in the world, my work will find a home.
The tag reads:
Made in Afghanistan.
Made with passion.
Made to travel.
Handmade work is slower than factory production, and that's exactly the point.
Beads are small and each one needs to be placed carefully. Rushing breaks the flow, so I take the time it takes to get it right.
Color order, spacing, tension, the final finish: small choices add up. I check each piece by hand before it leaves my workspace.
Because each item is made for one person, it gets my full focus. There is no batch, just your order, made one step at a time.
There are many places to buy accessories. Here's what's different when you order from an independent maker.

Handmade work can't always be finished immediately, and that's part of what makes it special. Because every piece is made by hand, the time needed depends on a few things:
The complexity of the design: a simple single-strand piece is quicker than a detailed multi-bead pattern.
The number of items: larger orders naturally take longer, since each item is made individually.
The details you've requested: specific colors, sizing or custom touches add extra care time.
I'll always give you an honest estimate before we start. If you have a deadline in mind, please contact me before ordering so we can plan together.
Every piece is made to order in about 3 to 5 days. Complex designs and larger orders take longer, and I always give an honest estimate before we start.
